Oxford
Activating the next generation of disciple makers
Oxford is one of Britain’s most influential cities. Whether in the academy, research, or charity sector, or in one of its many other industries, the city attracts some of the brightest and most influential minds from around the world. Not surprisingly, Oxford has long been targeted as a place to both influence and to find influencers. (For instance, the recently completed 100-million-pound Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies seeks to attract and mobilise a new generation of well-trained, culturally dexterous Islamic leaders capable of influencing the European spiritual landscape at the highest levels.)
Since 2015 the Oxford team has launched dozens of Discovery Bible Studies among students, ex-offenders, Muslims, and families, as well as partnered with churches and charities to discover creative ways of accessing people unreached by the local church. We have been struck by the immense potential that this city has in influencing the next generation for the gospel, and are actively praying for the birthing of a God movement in Oxford.
During the pandemic a number of the team’s members took on new roles and the team was temporarily disbanded. We are now in the process of relaunching this team and are excited to see what God has in mind for our work in Oxford.
